Our sustainability solutions can make a huge difference to your carbon reduction
Learn more about our sustainability offeringRSPCA Central London is one of the busiest branches of the organisation. The dedicated team is always ready to step in and make a difference, rescuing animals in need across London. With over 50 people across the office and 8 charity shops in the city it stands as the largest RSPCA branch in London. As a self-funded branch, RSPCA Central London relies on public support – every visit to one of their eight charity shops directly contributes to the care and protection of animals across the city.
Supporting a team that does so much for their community means being reliable, responsive and ready to help – and that’s exactly what we aimed to do at Right Digital Solutions.
By partnering with RDS, the RSPCA Central London branch has modernised its IT infrastructure, moving to the Microsoft Azure Cloud.
RSPCA Central London has transformed its organisation, enhancing its operational efficiency, ensuing robust data security and enabling staff to focus entirely on their core mission: caring for animals.
RSPCA Central London plays a critical role in society, handling over 1,300 animals annually – ranging from abandoned pets to animals subjected to neglect or cruelty. As a self-funded charity, its network of charity shops and veterinary services not only sustains its operations but also serves the community directly.
But here’s the reality: caring for animals comes with serious responsibility – and handling sensitive data is part of the job.
Given the nature of their work, robust and secure IT infrastructure is crucial. The organisation manages extensive data, including legal documents linked to animal welfare cases, making reliable IT services essential for compliance, security and performance.
RSPCA recently celebrated its 200th anniversary with a bold rebrand and a new purpose. This was a chance for the Central London team to reassess their business – which led to their reaching out to RDS to help reposition and improve business processes.
By upgrading equipment, introducing reliable backups and standardising Microsoft licensing, the Central London RSPCA boosted its efficiency, strengthened data security and enhanced overall capability – allowing them to focus even more effectively on their real work: caring for and cuddling lots of animals.
RDS stepped in with a toolkit of Managed IT solutions. We implemented a comprehensive IT transformation, beginning by upgrading the existing infrastructure to new Copilot-ready Windows 11 devices. The cornerstone of this solution was migrating to Microsoft Azure Cloud, ensuring optimal security, reliable data backup and seamless performance across all locations.
The Azure Cloud solution delivered several key benefits:
✅ Enhanced Scalability – Easily adjusting resources to match seasonal demand and organisational growth without excess costs.
✅ Cost Efficiency – Azure’s pay-as-you-go model significantly reduced upfront costs and streamlined ongoing expenditure.
✅ Robust Security – Advanced security protocols including encryption, identity management and compliance features ensure data integrity.
✅ Integration and Productivity – Seamless integration with existing Microsoft tools (Office 365, Dynamics 365, Teams) improved workflow efficiency and team collaboration.
✅ Future-ready Infrastructure – Reliable and sustainable IT foundations supporting long-term operational needs.
RSPCA Central London is now fully equipped to meet its responsibilities effectively, securely managing critical data and streamlining operations and it’s IT infrastructure is running faster and smoother than ever.
RDS delivered the Azure migration in carefully planned phases:
Phase 1: Infrastructure Upgrade
Phase 2: Azure Cloud Migration
Phase 3: Operational Excellence
“The RDS experience has been excellent. They quickly identified the issues and implemented effective solutions, enabling us to fully concentrate on the animals we care for. Their support service is prompt, polite and highly professional.” RSPCA Central London — Colette Jenson
