Ciaran’s journey with RDS has been nothing short of remarkable. After joining the company in 2016 and quickly discovering his passion for direct customer interaction, he rose within the sales team, making his first sale in just one month. His dedication and commitment to understanding client needs have shaped his career and today, he excels as a Sales Executive, supporting businesses across the UK.

Q&A with Ciaran Finnegan

We sat down with Ciaran to talk more about his experience at RDS and what motivates him in his role.

Q: Can you tell us about your role at RDS?

A: “My job is to ensure my customers are happy with RDS at all times, which with our service department, this is normally the easiest part! But my customers know my phone is always on.”

“Alongside this, it is to use a consultancy approach to find out more on both my customers and prospective customers’ problems and needs in the world of Workspace Technology. I can then use our vast portfolio and expertise to solve their problems.”

Q: What drives you in your role?

A: “I’m a problem solver and I’ve always been truly passionate about helping others. All of our services improve efficiency and therefore allows me to give back the most important thing of all… time!”

“I enjoy watching a process become streamlined, a mundane task be removed and hearing how the time is now better spent.”

Q: What’s the best thing about working at RDS?

A: “The people. RDS is full of people who truly care about our customers and take pride in the work they carry out. Whilst still having a laugh while doing it!”

Q: What role does well-being play in your success at work?

A: “I have found to truly thrive at work, you need to take care of yourself out of it.”

“A lot has changed from when I started here at the age of 21 and I’m nearing 30 now. I look after myself a lot more now, I enjoy playing football, long walks and most forms of exercise!”

Q: What’s a fun fact about you?

A: “I once got a black cab back from Glasgow to Birmingham.”

“One I’m more proud of is that I boxed at Villa Park for charity.”
